Eco-Art Printing

Eco-printing on silk, cotton and linen

I use only natural ingredients where the beauty of the plants themselves becomes the basis of the design. Leaves, flowers or seeds are carefully laid out on the fabric, then tied, steamed or boiled so that their natural pigments and shapes are printed directly onto the fibers.

Sometimes I dye the leaves with natural dyes to get a variety of colors.
To get red color I use madder roots, for lilac and blue I use logwood sawdust, pink I get from cochineal, yellow from red onion husks, and of course a mix of dyes gives an unpredictably wonderful color.

On silk the results often look luminous and airy, with soft gradients of color and subtle details, like watercolors imprinted on the fabric.

On cotton or linen, the prints are usually delicate yet earthy, with a matte finish that imparts rustic charm and quiet warmth.

The process feels both art and alchemy, as no two pieces are alike. Each eco-print carries the essence of the plants used and the moment of its creation, making each fabric a unique work of nature.
